Education Support Role Overview
This position involves performing tasks in accordance with established guidelines and protocols under the supervision of experienced professionals.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing support for teachers including assisting with lesson planning and student routines
- Facilitating communication between teachers and parents to ensure a collaborative approach to student care
- Communicating with teachers on routine matters related to students and other school-related responsibilities
- Providing basic physical care and wellbeing support for students, including toileting, meals, and lifting
- Communicating with students to support their understanding of basic tasks and information
- Addressing immediate behavioral presentations in line with school policy and procedure
- Providing support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students in a classroom setting
- Supporting teachers in the coordination of educational programs with minimal supervision
As an education support employee, you may be required to undertake coordination, specialized student/teacher support tasks, or technical tasks as experience in the role is gained.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
