Job Title: Planning Manager

NSW Ports is seeking a highly skilled Planning Manager to manage all statutory planning and land use planning matters for the company.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of and experience in dealing with strategic land use planning matters, as well as knowledge of local, state, and federal planning and environmental legislation and instruments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing development applications and approval processes for all NSW Ports and tenant development activities
  • Advocating and influencing stakeholders to implement strategies, planning policies, and legislation that enable the long-term operation and economic growth of NSW Ports' assets
  • Developing and delivering strategic plans for NSW Ports that deliver on the growth of NSW Ports' assets and influence the strategic plans of stakeholders in support of NSW Ports' objectives

Requirements:

  • Tertiary degree in a relevant discipline with 8+ years of relevant working experience
  • Extensive experience in planning, environmental assessments, environmental management, and project management
  • Strong understanding of and experience in dealing with strategic land use planning matters
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal planning and environmental legislation and instruments
  • Experience in stakeholder and client management skills
  • Experience in liaising with all levels of Government and their respective officers
  • Experience in influencing and negotiating strategic land use policy matters and development outcomes
