Job Description:

The role involves providing technical operations support for micro- and nanotechnology equipment, ensuring optimal performance through daily checks, installation and modification management, and proactive maintenance. Compliance with Australian safety standards is crucial, and coordination with internal and external partners for repairs is essential.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, interpret, and apply policies, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with work health and safety standards and Australian safety regulations.
  • Contribute to laboratory improvements, manage hazardous materials, conduct routine inspections, and proactively identify and address issues to maintain a safe, efficient environment.
  • Liaise with external suppliers to stay updated on tech advances, procure materials, manage spare parts, and maintain operational efficiency within QMNC and ANFF-Q facilities.
  • Support and assist technical and academic staff and lead by example in adhering to university policies, ethics, and safety standards.
About You:

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). A certification in facilities management or related field would be highly regarded.

  • Experience in facilities management, maintenance, and equipment support (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems (desirable).
  • Experience with microtechnology or cleanroom facilities (desirable).
  • Experience in a university or research facility environment (desirable).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams with strong communication and organisational skills.
