Lead Radiological Emergency Response Specialist

This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated professional to lead radiological emergency response efforts. The successful candidate will have expertise in radiation protection and emergency management, as well as strong leadership skills.

The Lead Radiological Emergency Response Specialist will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight of radiological emergency response activities.
  • Develop and implement effective emergency management plans and procedures.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Lead training and exercise programs to ensure preparedness and readiness.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a branch of the physical sciences or comparable overseas qualifications.
  • Expertise in radiation protection and emergency management, including knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience in leading teams and managing multiple priorities.
  • A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • High-level liaison and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate on behalf of the agency.
