Principal Mechanical Engineer Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a highly skilled mechanical engineer who can provide technical leadership, manage projects, and mentor teams.

  • Manage the mechanical engineering discipline of a major capital works program.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers to achieve their full potential.
  • Ensure designs meet specifications, are cost-effective, reliable, and have a low environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical leadership, managing projects and mentoring teams.
  • Ensures quality in the delivery of mechanical engineering deliverables.
  • Contributes to design review workshops and quality checks.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 years' direct experience managing projects on major hazards facilities (MHF).
  • Demonstrable experience of embedding safety considerations into all aspects of mechanical engineering and design.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and oral.
