Job Title: Family Worker

At Marymead CatholicCare, we are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Family Worker to join our team in providing supervised contact services that are impartial, trauma-informed, and child-centered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct supervised visits and changeovers.
  • Transport children to and from visits, and this may include occasional interstate travel.
  • Write up observational reports of visits according to program guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all clients within the parameters of duty of care.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and professional development.
  • Ensure that administrative standards are maintained in accordance with the program and organisation's policies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Community Services, Early Childhood or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working within a person and child safety framework that is client-centered and trauma-informed.
  • Excellent relationship building skills to maintain effective client relationships.
  • Proven experience and ability to respond appropriately to critical incidents and to clients presenting with complex needs.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and good time management skills.
  • Computer literacy skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and simple databases.

About You:

The ideal person we are looking for has:

  • A minimum Certificate III in Community Services, Early Childhood, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working within a person and child safety framework that is client-centered and trauma-informed.

  • Proven experience and ability to respond appropriately to critical incidents and to clients presenting with complex needs.
