We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team at the University of Frankfurt as a Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Fellow. The successful candidate will be part of the Centre for Gravitational Astrophysics, a leading research facility in the field of gravitational wave science.

The position is a 2-year opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in gravitational wave instrumentation, particularly in the areas of quantum metrology, generation and manipulation of squeezed light, and laser interferometry. Our team is part of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery (OzGrav) and undertakes a world-leading role for Australia in the science and technology of gravitational wave discoveries.

As a Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of researchers and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for gravitational wave detection and analysis. You will also have the chance to collaborate with international partners and contribute to the advancement of our understanding of the universe.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting research in gravitational wave instrumentation, particularly in quantum metrology, squeezed light generation, and laser interferometry
  • Developing and implementing new methods and techniques for gravitational wave detection and analysis
  • Collaborating with international partners and contributing to the advancement of our understanding of the universe
  • Presenting research findings at international conferences and publishing in top-tier scientific journals
