Senior Corporate Tax Accountant Job Description

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a leading company as a Senior Corporate Tax Accountant for a fixed-term contract.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to take on a diverse role that requires building relationships across the business and communicating effectively with stakeholders. As a Senior Corporate Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing corporate tax returns, supporting FBT, BAS, and PAYG compliance, and managing tax and statutory filings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Prepare corporate tax returns, support FBT, BAS, and PAYG compliance
  • Statutory Accounts: Assist with statutory accounts under IFRS and coordinate with external auditors
  • Tax Filings: Manage tax and statutory filings for the New Zealand entity
  • Cash Flow Forecasts: Prepare cash flow forecasts and tax reporting packages for head office
  • SOX Documentation: Support SOX documentation and compliance processes
  • Project Collaboration: Partner with finance and operational teams on various projects and initiatives
  • ATO Queries: Respond to ATO queries, audits, and reviews

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: CA/CPA qualification (or working towards)
  • Experience: Solid experience in corporate tax and/or statutory accounting
  • Audit Knowledge: Strong knowledge of audit and statutory reporting requirements
  • Excel Skills: Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Soft Skills: A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to juggle competing deadlines
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in partnering with the business
