About the Role

CDC Victoria is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated First Nations Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the company's cultural understanding and promoting inclusivity and respect.

The First Nations Coordinator will be responsible for managing and supporting CDC's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) engagement portfolio, as well as Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) activities. This includes aligning with First Nations businesses in accordance with the social procurement policy and collaborating with First Nations leaders and key external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Build effective relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, partners, and stakeholders.
  2. Oversee the delivery of RAP initiatives and coordinate with regional RAP Working Group members.
  3. Raise CDC Victoria's profile within local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  4. Advocate for reconciliation principles and promote positive actions to internal staff, external stakeholders, and local communities.
  5. Collaborate with relevant managers and teams to develop projects and initiatives that enhance CDC's brand, culture, and customer satisfaction in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Requirements
  • Designated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Position (DAP): Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent required.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in stakeholder or project management, preferably with a focus on reconciliation, First Nations affairs, or social impact initiatives, along with a strong connection to First Nations communities in Victoria.
  • Strong understanding of First Nations cultures, histories, and contemporary issues.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse groups and individuals.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to coordinate and nurture collaborative partnerships.
