Technical Leadership Opportunity

This is a genuine technical leadership role overseeing Australia's critical customer-facing platform, carrying 60-70% of all web traffic and integrating with more than 200 internal systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of direct reports and manage vendor pods, comprising 15 people in total.
  • Oversee the Java/microservices platform on AWS, with experience in DevOps, Node.js, and React.
  • Drive strategy and ensure platform stability without hands-on coding involvement.
  • Balance relationships with vendors (75% of development) with the in-house team (25%).
  • Collaborate with security and infra teams on performance, reliability, and remediation.
The Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • A proven engineering-first leader with a strong background in Java, AWS, and microservices who has grown into leadership.
  • Experience managing both internal engineers and vendor partners.
  • Someone comfortable engaging in complex technical discussions while leading at scale.
  • Background in enterprise integrations or high-traffic platforms, with experience in logistics or similar industries being an advantage.
