Job Title: Teacher, See, Tafe Queensland

About the Role:

TAFE Queensland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced teacher to join our team. As a TAFE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality learning and teaching programs to students.

  • Deliver training and assessment to students in a variety of settings, including classroom, workplace, simulated and online environments.
  • Develop and implement curriculum materials and assessments that meet industry standards.
  • Lead and manage effective teaching and learning activities, with a focus on student engagement, progression and success.
  • Maintain currency with industry practices, technologies and methodologies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality of training and assessment provided to students.
  • Develop effective working relationships with students, staff and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Assessment:
    • Deliver training and assessment to students in a variety of settings, including classroom, workplace, simulated and online environments.
    • Develop and implement curriculum materials and assessments that meet industry standards.
  • Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and manage effective teaching and learning activities, with a focus on student engagement, progression and success.
    • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality of training and assessment provided to students.

    • Develop and implement curriculum materials and assessments that meet industry standards.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Develop effective working relationships with students, staff and stakeholders.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Undergraduate degree of at least three years duration awarded by an Australian university or tertiary institution, or its onshore or overseas equivalent (recognised in Australia);
  • At least 100 hours teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or Adult Literacy / Numeracy in the last three years;
  • Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
  • Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided; and
  • Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.

Preferred Qualifications:

It would be desirable if you hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:

  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
  • TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
  • TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
  • A higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

  • Possess sound knowledge of safe, equitable and anti-discriminatory work practices and demonstrate ability to be flexible, inclusive, responsive and deliver quality student experience.
