Job Description:

The role of the Automation Technician is pivotal in ensuring the safe installation and maintenance of underground mobile fleet automation systems at a leading mine site.

Key responsibilities include managing preventative and corrective maintenance, assisting production and maintenance teams, and guaranteeing compliance with industry processes. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of modern automation systems and relevant technologies such as Wi-Fi, networking, teleremote, and autonomous control systems, as well as general on-board vehicle control systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology
  • Strong understanding of modern automation systems in underground metalliferous mining
  • Good working knowledge of technologies used in underground mobile fleet automation
  • Installation, testing/commissioning, complex fault finding, and repair of mobile fleet automation systems
  • Sandvik AutoMine training or experience is an advantage
