Job Title: Automation Specialist

The primary role of an Automation Specialist is to ensure the efficiency and usability of online systems through ongoing automated testing. This involves maintaining consistency and ensuring that application changes meet both specification and customer journey requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks along with supporting documentation.
  • Design and execute automated test cases for complex financial services applications.
  • Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines that provide timely feedback on application quality.
  • Contribute to the Test Community of Practice, sharing advancements and best practices in test automation.
  • Collaborate with Functional Test Analysts to ensure high-risk areas have adequate automated test coverage.
  • Help develop risk-assessed test strategies for applications and APIs.
  • Advocate for an Automation-First approach to testing, working with developers and analysts to achieve this goal.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience as an automation engineer.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including with technical staff, end-users, and management.
  • Experience with SoapUI, Postman, Selenium Java WebDriver, Cucumber, and headless browsers is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Bitbucket and Bamboo.
  • Ability to build and extend automated test frameworks.
  • Sound problem-solving skills, time management, and ability to work independently.
  • Pragmatic and resilient to change.
