About the Role

The Leisure Attendant position is a casual opportunity to work at the Sussex Inlet Aquatic Centre. Key responsibilities include delivering the Learn to Swim program, teaching water safety skills to children aged 6 months to 17 years.

  • Ensure a safe and educational environment for students, adhering to all workplace health and safety legislation and policy instructions.
  • Deliver professional instructions and assess students' competency and skill levels, motivating them to progress through the learning stages.
  • Complete required administrative tasks and maintain accurate records related to the swimming program and student progress.

The ideal candidate will have current AUSTSWIM, Royal Life Saving Society Australia or Swimming Australia Certificate - Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety (or equivalent) and current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Award or RLSSA Pool Lifeguard Award (CPR).

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, possess great customer service skills and have a passion for teaching water safety skills.

Requirements
  • Current AUSTSWIM, Royal Life Saving Society Australia or Swimming Australia Certificate - Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety (or equivalent)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Award or RLSSA Pool Lifeguard Award (CPR)

Candidates must also hold a current NSW Working with Children Check and undergo pre-employment checks, including a Working with Children Check Verification, National Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Work Rights Verification, Reference Checks and Medical (Low Risk, Medium Risk, High Risk).
