Job Description:

The Maintenance Technician role at our hotel is a hands-on position that requires a high level of energy and enthusiasm. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of day-to-day maintenance across the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend to guest repair requests and communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, as well as visually inspecting tools, equipment, or machines.
  • Identify and locate shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings, and maintain inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
  • Display knowledge in areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and other guestroom items.
  • Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
  • Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
  • Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping as well as external landscaping sprinklers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

General handyman skills are essential for this role, with some trade qualifications preferred. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply as training will be provided.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a large-scale hotel Engineering department is advantageous.
  • Organized individuals with strong planning, good communication, and interpersonal skills are highly valued.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude and high energy levels.
  • Australian working rights are required, although student visa candidates are also welcome to apply.
