Mental health services are a core specialty with significant growth and expansion in areas including adult psychiatric units, older persons unit, early parenting unit, TMS, ECT, and day program offerings.

About the Role

This newly created role will lead mental health teams with direct reports including:

  • Adult Mental Health Unit Managers
  • Early Parenting Unit Manager
  • Allied Health Manager
  • Intake Coordinator
  • ECT and TMS Coordinators

The role provides stewardship, leadership, and guidance to enhance service delivery of all mental health services.

You will provide an excellent standard of evidence-based and person-centered care through comprehensive assessment, development of a plan, implementation, and evaluation of outcomes in a timely manner.

You will advocate for and involve patients, their families, and significant others to participate in care, goal setting, and discharge planning.

A focus on improving experience and driving services requires strong leadership skills and ability to align with strategic objectives.

Building and maintaining a positive culture prioritizes patient experiences and enhances access to mental health care.

Essential Criteria
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent healthcare stream
  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Meeting compliance requirements - Working with Children check, police check, serology, immunisation, and workplace health and safety questionnaire

A strong and comprehensive experience in mental health clinical care delivery, leading clinical and operational teams, and applying performance management principles is required.
