Senior Hazmat Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Hazmat Consultant to join our client's team, a Boutique Environmental Consultancy based in the Sydney Lower North Shore.

Our client provides environmental and risk management consulting services in contaminated land, hazardous materials, occupational hygiene, and health and safety.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years' experience in asbestos/hazardous materials consultancy, hold a valid Asbestos Assessors Licence, and possess strong project management skills.

A competitive salary is on offer, estimated at around $120,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include flexible working arrangements, a bonus structure, and career progression opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project budgets, delivering high-quality technical reports, and providing specialised guidance in hazardous materials and asbestos.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Project management with accountability for budgets and client satisfaction.
  • Client liaison, proposal preparation, and ongoing client management.
  • Training and mentoring junior staff, including Consultants and Graduates.
  • Technical review of reports prior to final signoff.
  • Conducting asbestos and hazardous materials audits and producing associated reports.
  • Developing asbestos management plans and recommendations.
  • Conducting air monitoring and hygiene assessments for hazardous materials.

The company adheres to WHSEQ and NATA standards and encourages internal protocol development.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in report writing.
  • Full driver's license and flexibility to travel as required.
