Lead Hydraulic Services Discipline

This is a unique opportunity to found and lead a hydraulic services discipline within a design-led consultancy in Sydney. The company delivers thoughtful, sustainable, and human-centred engineering solutions with a proud heritage of technical excellence and design collaboration.

Leveraging an existing client base and integrated multi-disciplinary offering, you'll set best practice, build a high-performing team, and embed hydraulic services into a respected design culture. The Opportunity
  • Establish and lead a new Hydraulic Engineering group in Sydney, creating the foundations for long-term success.
  • Create best practice design standards, ensuring quality, innovation, and sustainability across all projects.
  • Own the growth of hydraulic services, embedding capability into the firm's respected multi-disciplinary offering.
  • Collaborate with in-house experts across mechanical, electrical, fire, sustainability, and lighting design to deliver fully integrated solutions.
  • Represent the practice with presence in the Sydney market. Build trust, strengthen partnerships, and open new opportunities.
  • Build and mentor a team of hydraulic engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, design excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive delivery across projects in sectors including cultural, education, workplace, healthcare, heritage, and high-performance buildings.
  • Act as a shareholder and long-term stakeholder, shaping the direction and success of the practice.
Your Profile
  • 15+ years' experience in building services hydraulic design within a consulting environment.
  • Recognised in Sydney for your design credibility, industry presence, and trusted client relationships.
  • A proven leader with the capability to establish and grow a new discipline.
  • Passionate about design excellence and the role of hydraulics in creating smarter, sustainable buildings.
  • Commercially attuned, able to identify opportunities, manage growth, and deliver enduring client value.
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng).
