Overview
Hydraulic Engineer (Associate/ Associate Director), Building Services — lead complex projects with technical excellence and strategic direction at WSP.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee hydraulic engineering design across major projects, ensuring technical excellence and innovation.
Drive strategic growth of the hydraulics discipline, contributing to business development and client engagement.
Mentor and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and performance.
Represent WSP in client meetings, industry forums, and technical panels, showcasing thought leadership.
Collaborate cross-functionally with other disciplines to deliver integrated building services solutions.
Ensure quality assurance and compliance with industry standards, while pushing boundaries to set new benchmarks.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor of Mechanical or Civil Engineering
High-level specialist expertise in hydraulic building services engineering and design documentation
15+ years of industry experience on Australian building services projects, ideally in a consulting environment
Experience delivering multiple concurrent projects across sectors (commercial, defence, transport, education)
Strong client relationship management and project management skills
Capacity to lead, train and mentor junior engineers across technical and project delivery aspects
Strong leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
Strong knowledge of relevant Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3500, NCC, etc.)
Understanding of BIM, NavisWorks and Revit MEP (advantageous)
