Job Summary:

We are seeking an Environmental Attendant to join our team at Fiona Stanley Hospital. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for collecting and distributing clean and soiled waste bins across hospital departments, ensuring that all areas are kept tidy and free from hazards.
  • Safe handling, emptying, washing, and recording various waste streams is also a crucial part of your duties.
  • In addition, you will support waste minimisation and recycling initiatives, contributing to a more sustainable environment.
  • Operating bin washing and waste management equipment in line with safety procedures is also required.
  • Liaising with subcontractors to coordinate waste management services is another important aspect of this role.
  • Providing excellent customer service to staff and stakeholders is essential.

Requirements:

  • You will have experience working in a healthcare, hospitality, or customer-focused environment, with a strong understanding of safe waste handling practices.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures is essential.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment are also necessary.
  • You must be able to work effectively in a professional and customer-focused manner.
  • An understanding of health, safety, and vaccination requirements for hospital work is also required.
