Technical Support SpecialistAbout the Role

The Offender Digital Services team is responsible for delivering, supporting and maintaining offender digital systems. The Technical Support Specialist will provide broad-ranging support to the ODS Service Team, troubleshooting and resolving issues of moderate complexity while providing a high level of customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering Tier 2 phone and/or in-person support to users in line with agreed organisational Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Maintaining and supporting ongoing operations throughout DCJ by undertaking a range of ICT support tasks
  • Investigating minor security breaches in accordance with established procedures
  • Ensuring user access rights and privileges and operating logical access controls and security systems
  • Installing or removing hardware and/or software using supplied installation instructions and tools

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Managing set-up activities for ICT devices and systems and monitoring their performance
  • Creating and maintaining support documentation to assist others in restoring services and reducing the impact of unplanned outages
  • Providing centralised management of inmate LMS password resets and operational vendor technical liaison and management
Key Requirements

Key requirements for this role include:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Information Management from a service perspective gained within an ICT environment
  • Proven experience in a similar role with the ability to obtain knowledge and understanding of NSW government key services and client base
  • Independent worker able to take initiative to achieve outcomes
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting-skills
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems best practices
