Lead Operations Manager Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced operations manager to oversee and drive the success of our metalliferous processing facility. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the site's operational performance and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on Production KPIs: Drive production efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability across the operation.
  • Manage Capital Projects: Oversee equipment reliability, workforce planning, and process optimisation using modern technologies and data-driven decisions.
  • Lead Process Improvements: Implement automation and digital tools to enhance plant efficiency, reduce ore dilution, and maximise metal recovery.
  • Safety and Compliance: Build a strong safety culture, ensure full regulatory compliance, and lead proactive risk mitigation efforts.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire a diverse and high-performing processing team, lead performance management, succession planning, and promote a psychologically safe and inclusive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in mineral processing, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of Australian WHS and environmental regulations, proven expertise in operational excellence, cost control, and stakeholder engagement.
