About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Category Manager to join our team at Direct Group, managing the The Fox Collection brand. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for all aspects of product category management, including marketing, buying, inventory, and online activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end category performance to deliver budgeted sales and margin growth
  • Responsible for marketing and campaign management, including developing and executing marketing strategies to drive sales and customer engagement
  • Buy and manage inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and reducing aged inventory
  • Manage online promotional and administration activities, including product training and support for internal and external customers
  • Conduct annual range reviews to ensure budgeted financial plans can be delivered
  • Strategically plan and introduce new product categories to drive customer acquisition and sales retention
  • Source new ranges within existing product categories to drive sales and margin growth
  • Manage product life cycle to reduce aged inventory, increase stock turns, and increase in stock levels
  • Plan and deliver annual campaign program across all channels
  • Participate in product review meetings to present products for company purchase

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role as a Retail Buyer or Category Manager
  • Passion for craft or stitching
  • Customer-focused approach and attitude
  • Exceptional team player with ability to interface effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate market research data
  • Ability to motivate oneself and others
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work on own initiative and take ownership of job roles
  • Exceptional time management skills - must be able to prioritise work effectively
  • Ability to use a variety of computer software packages
  • Proficient administration and organisational skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Excellent attention to detail
