Simulator Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Simulator Technician to join our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Ground-Based Training Simulators (GBTS). As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be instrumental in installing, testing, repairing, and modifying electronic equipment, adhering to technical manuals and OEM provided system schematics.

You will collaborate with other teams to resolve non-standard technical issues, maximize simulator operations, and keep stakeholders informed about technical aspects of maintenance and performance. Additionally, you will promote safe working practices across the workforce and foster strong relationships with customers, representing our organization professionally.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of digital processing, audio-visual, video projection, PC, server, and LAN networks, as well as communication systems. Familiarity with Linux OS is desirable, and experience in repairing electronic and/or electro-mechanical equipment, cabling, and interpersonal skills are highly valued.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, test, repair, and modify electronic equipment according to technical specifications
  • Collaborate with teams to resolve technical issues and optimize simulator performance
  • Provide updates on technical aspects of maintenance and performance to stakeholders
  • Model and advocate safe working practices across the workforce
  • Foster strong customer relationships and represent the organization professionally
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An understanding of digital processing, audio-visual, video projection, PC, server, and LAN networks
  • Communication systems knowledge
  • Linux OS familiarity (desired)
  • Experience in repairing electronic and/or electro-mechanical equipment
  • Cabling expertise
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for harmonious collaboration with technical and non-technical teams
Special Requirements:
