Chief Contract Officer

The successful Contracts Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient execution of all downstream procurement activities, necessary for fulfilling contractual obligations.
This position reports to the Legal and Commercial Manager and is primarily responsible for providing commercial and contractual expertise for the administration of downstream sub-contracts. The candidate will work closely with the Procurement Manager and Contract Manager upstream to manage all commercial, procurement and financial aspects of contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with policies at a project and company level.
Main Responsibilities- Assisting with downstream commercial pre-contract activities, including EOI's, Tenders and Confidentiality Agreements.
- Analyzing, negotiating and settling downstream commercial positions to achieve strong commercial positions that safeguard interests.
- Preparing and reviewing contracts (including scope of works) for their execution.
- Preparing and reviewing RFAs for contracts to be executed.
- Ensuring strong compliance to policies across the project/contract.
- Managing downstream contracts, including any claims or disputes.
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Maintaining complete contractual records, correspondence, proposed changes to contracts, warranties, delays, extensions of time and other contract management functions as per standards and processes.
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Law or Construction Management is preferred but not essential.
- Able to achieve outcomes in an environment of managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Experience in a contract management role within a projects environment, including negotiation of contracts, contract management and dispute resolution.
