Transport and Logistics Supervisor Job Description

Transport Jobs In Australia is seeking a highly skilled Transport and Logistics Supervisor to join our team in Wingfield SA.

This is a fast-paced full-time position that will work closely with the yard team, administration staff, and Line-haul drivers to provide efficient and friendly customer services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations, preparing and allocating documentation and vehicles for local delivery staff and line-haul drivers.
  • Manage and supervise line-haul drivers, administration, and local staff, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures under relevant legislation, regulations, and standards are adhered to.
  • Provide effective customer service across all channels of communication, including monitoring and responding to emails and shared emails.
  • Maintain records, report relevant information, and prepare any necessary documentation.
  • Work within the organisation's operational systems to organise and manifest transport bookings, manage drivers, and the management of pallets.
  • Communicate and coordinate maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform general yard responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in a similar position with practical, administrative, and people management experience.
  • Knowledge in the following areas: National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS), Chain of Responsibility (Co R), and Work Health and Safety (WHS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, logistics systems, and data entry software.
  • Effective communication skills and be team-oriented.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A TLIF0006 Administer a Fatigue Risk Management System (Scheduling) certificate.
  • Experience in Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCAP), Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA), and Aviation Transport Security Regulations (AACA).
  • Driving experience with a valid heavy vehicle licence (minimum Heavy Combination (HC)).
  • A Current Forklift Licence (LF) with operational experience.

The successful applicant must be entitled to work in Australia and be prepared to provide a criminal and drivers licence history check and undergo pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
