Support Mentor

We are seeking an experienced Support Mentor to join our team.

About the Role
  • As a Support Mentor, you will be directly responsible for the day-to-day support and personal development of individuals accessing our services.
  • You will work closely with families, carers and therapy teams to ensure our support meets the client's needs and fosters growth and wellbeing.
  • Advocate the rights of people with disabilities and provide support in accordance with national disability standards.
  • Encourage community involvement and focus on individual goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide all types of support work including but not limited to; in-home care, personal care, community access, domestic tasks, household tasks, group work, overnight support and transport.
  • Work in our social groups such as sports, cooking, community and gaming groups where you will work alongside multiple clients at once encouraging social, interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Individualised Support, Disability, Community Services (or equivalent)
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate (inc CPR)
  • Manual Handling (Health Care)
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19
  • Police clearance
  • Working with children and vulnerable people clearance (DCSI)

  • Flexibility and availability with working hours
  • Happy to travel to and from clients
  • Work to best practice Work Health & Safety Standards
