Electrical Designer Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with project stakeholders to gather requirements and assess scope for electrical design projects.
  • Develop detailed electrical designs including primary electrical layouts, elevations, assembly drawings, detail drawings, and equipment schedules.
  • Utilize software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, etc., to create precise and accurate designs.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure processes and quality assurance are correctly performed on projects.
  • Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance to enhance team performance.
  • Participate in design review meetings to identify risks or design issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Deliver projects on time to satisfy client requirements.
Requirements:
  • Degree or Diploma in a relevant field or sufficient industry experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electrical design, preferably in a consulting or power utility environment.
  • Extensive experience with drafting software packages.
  • Knowledge of electrical design principles related to primary electrical equipment.
  • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations, including Australian and International standards.
