About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Fitter to join our team in B&D Garage Doors and Openers, part of DuluxGroup.

This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanically-minded individual to contribute to ensuring the site operates at its peak each day. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining all plant equipment, identifying issues, and providing sustainable solutions.

The Role

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out preventative maintenance tasks and participating in site improvement projects to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting plant equipment issues, providing timely communication with stakeholders, and implementing sustainable solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and problem-solving to identify and address any deviations from desired processes.
  • Responding promptly to breakdown situations to repair plant equipment as requested by managers or supervisors.
  • Maintaining accurate records, logs, and systems to track repairs, notifications, and work activities.

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized Mechanical Trade Qualification, such as a Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • The ability to work independently and make quick decisions during emergency situations.
  • A strong understanding of safety and environmental practices, with a commitment to best practices.
  • An eye for operational and equipment improvement opportunities through ongoing investigation and root cause analysis of faults.
