Diagnostic and Remedial Engineer Job Description

The Diagnostic and Remedial Engineer will manage a portfolio of clients and provide expert services in diagnostic and remedial engineering. The role requires previous experience in facades/remedial, working at heights training, rope access qualifications etc.

  • The Diagnostic and Remedial Engineer will oversee field work, report and advisory work undertaken to ensure that standards are maintained for technical performance, constructability and avoidance of professional liability.
  • They will work with clients to balance design or report and advisory work requirements with established schedules.
  • Written proposals will be provided to clients that satisfy their requirements.
  • Clients will be commissioned and coordinated with sub-consultants, surveyors etc.
  • Preliminary design and document discussions will be undertaken with client, councils etc.
  • Progress on projects will be monitored and reported to client, Manager etc.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee field work to maintain standards for technical performance, constructability and professional liability.

  • Provide written proposals to clients.
  • Commission and coordinate sub-consultants, surveyors etc.
  • Undertake preliminary design and document discussions with client, councils etc.
  • Monitor progress on projects and report to client, Manager etc.
Requirements:
  • High level report writing and communication skills.
  • Understanding of Standards and Legislation within the Building Sector (i.e. BCA).
  • Highly developed construction and assessment skills.
  • Able to undertake problem solving to derive innovative solutions.
