Biomedical Engineer Position Overview

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in biomedical engineering, with a focus on providing high-level advisory services to clinical and ICT/digital health departments.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical support and guidance to clinicians and healthcare professionals on the management of health technologies and Australian Standards requirements.
  • Evaluating technical aspects of tender responses and preparing reports for evaluation analysis.
  • Conducting acceptance testing of new equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Providing high-level training and education to medical officers, nurses, and other equipment users on the safe operation and maintenance of healthcare technology.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A recognized four-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering as recognized by Engineers Australia.
  • Registration as an RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland) is highly desirable.
  • Licences, certifications, and accreditations required to carry out activities within the relevant discipline areas or willingness to obtain during the first 6 months of employment.
  • High-level knowledge and expertise in biomedical engineering or related fields.
  • Ability to apply scientific and engineering knowledge, solve non-routine problems, and achieve defined outcomes related to biomedical engineering.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to convey complex information to others.
