Clinical Nurse Specialist Role

The Custodial Mental Health service offers a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for a skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive assessments, develop effective discharge plans and ensure seamless transfer of care responsibilities.
  • Lead the development and review of treatment planning and clinical review systems for patients with mental health concerns.
  • Exercise strong clinical leadership in treatment planning and clinical review systems.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the relevant authority.
  • A minimum of three years' experience working in mental health, supplemented by postgraduate qualifications in mental health or an equivalent combination of experience and qualifications.

Working in Our Service

The Custodial Mental Health service is a specialist mental health service within the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network. We provide a range of mental health services to adults in correctional centres, including a specialist mental health team with mental health nurses, nurse practitioners, Aboriginal Mental Health Clinicians, psychiatrists, career medical officers and psychiatry registrars.
