Job Title: Aquaculture Professional

About the Role:

This position is part of the Aquaculture Team within the Directorates responsible for managing Queensland's aquaculture industry.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and updating of policies supporting the management of the aquaculture sector in Queensland;
  • Maintain and update the aquaculture licensing database with accuracy and timeliness;
  • Prepare and conduct the annual survey on aquaculture production in Queensland and compile a summary report;
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, clients, government agencies, and other key influencers;
  • Compose high-quality letters and briefings as needed.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional writing and communication skills;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines;
  • Effective decision-making capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of an aquaculture or fisheries related qualification or relevant experience in the aquaculture sector;
  • Familiarity with policy development processes.
