Cash Converters is a leading Australian retailer with a strong presence in the personal finance industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Team Lead to join our Information Technology Team at our Perth Head Office.


The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and installing applications using a variety of programming languages across multiple platforms. They will also mentor and guide less experienced team members, including graduates and junior developers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software applications using C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, C, C++, or similar languages.
  • Mentor and guide team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of requirements and expectations.
  • Coordinate and lead team meetings, including sprints, retrospectives, and stand-ups.
  • Evaluate IT application and equipment requirements with users.
  • Ensure systems are completed within agreed budgets and time frames while adhering to design and security standards.


About You

  • You'll hold relevant tertiary qualifications in computer science, IT, or software engineering.
  • Have advanced skills in C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, C, C++, or similar languages, plus experience with Azure.
  • Have expertise in relational databases such as SQL Server, Postgres, or MySQL.
  • Advanced knowledge of software architecture with the ability to apply this knowledge to specific project deliverables.
  • Be available to participate in after-hours on-call shifts.
  • Previous experience in a software development leadership role is desirable.
