As Head of Education, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high expectations among students, staff, and the wider community.
About Katoomba High School
Katoomba High School is a leading secondary education institution located in the Upper Blue Mountains, serving a student body of 954 with 7% Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students and 4% from a language background other than English. Our school prides itself on its inclusive education faculty, offering nine classes catering to students with diverse needs. We maintain strong partnerships with six local primary schools, emphasizing the importance of building positive relationships within our community.

Requirements
To succeed as our next Principal, you must be a resilient, visible, approachable educator who leads with integrity, partnering with staff to raise student, staff, and community expectations and aspirations. An outstanding educational leader with a focus on innovation, student voice, and empowering teachers as leaders of curriculum and pedagogy is required. Proven interpersonal skills to build purposeful relationships with a diverse community are essential, along with demonstrated commitment to public education and capacity to support diverse student needs.

- High-level educational leadership skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on delivering high-quality education.
- Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole-school teaching and learning programs.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.
- Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.
- Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.
Estimated Salary: $216,773 per annum.
