We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Chief Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Data Centre Engineering Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centres, including the maintenance and repair of critical infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a 24 x 7 rotating shift roster, ensuring seamless coverage of critical systems.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems, including generators, UPS systems, and cooling equipment.
- Develop and implement projects to increase facility capacity, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
- Generate reports and analyses on facility operations and maintenance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Interface with Infra Ops management to ensure day-to-day operational requirements are met.
- Supervise a team of Engineering Operations Technicians, providing guidance and support as needed.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in maintaining a DC or Critical Space facility, or other critical environment with Technical (Military/Trade School) training.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Further education in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline.
- Ability to participate in a 24 x 7 rotating shift roster with team leadership experience.
