Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Senior Financial Accountants in acting as the primary operational contacts for their allocated client portfolios.
  • Oversee timely resolution of client queries and escalate complex issues when necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and timely testing of templates, processes, and system changes to maintain compliance with legislation and internal policies.
  • Provide transition support for the setup of new portfolios or restructures in accordance with client instructions.
  • Conduct formal supervision and self-assessment testing of procedures and deliverables in line with the risk management framework.
  • Drive and contribute to initiatives focused on improving operational efficiency and reducing risk across the business.
  • Deliver ongoing training, coaching, and professional development for team members, while managing their performance and growth.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of management experience within the Australian financial services industry.
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting and APRA compliance, particularly in relation to unit trusts and superannuation funds.
  • Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) qualification.
  • In-depth knowledge of fund accounting, financial and APRA reporting, and the associated operational risk and compliance requirements within a client service environment.
  • Solid understanding of tax principles as they apply to unit trusts and their impact on unitholders.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and APRA reporting obligations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
