This leadership role is pivotal in managing client relationships and delivering high-quality results. The Senior Financial Reporting Lead will serve as the primary escalation point, resolving client queries and ensuring service excellence.
Responsibilities:- Lead a team of Senior Financial Accountants in acting as the primary operational contacts for their allocated client portfolios.
- Oversee timely resolution of client queries and escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Ensure accurate and timely testing of templates, processes, and system changes to maintain compliance with legislation and internal policies.
- Provide transition support for the setup of new portfolios or restructures in accordance with client instructions.
- Conduct formal supervision and self-assessment testing of procedures and deliverables in line with the risk management framework.
- Drive and contribute to initiatives focused on improving operational efficiency and reducing risk across the business.
- Deliver ongoing training, coaching, and professional development for team members, while managing their performance and growth.
- A minimum of 6-8 years of management experience within the Australian financial services industry.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting and APRA compliance, particularly in relation to unit trusts and superannuation funds.
- Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) qualification.
- In-depth knowledge of fund accounting, financial and APRA reporting, and the associated operational risk and compliance requirements within a client service environment.
- Solid understanding of tax principles as they apply to unit trusts and their impact on unitholders.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and APRA reporting obligations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
