About the Role
Centurion Transport is seeking an experienced forklift operator to join our operations team as a Freight Officer. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient handling and receipt of freight, responsible for loading, unloading, and restraining general freight of all sizes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various sized counterbalance forklifts (2.5T, 7T, and 16T) to process general freight from beginning to end.
- Secure and restrain all loads as per the load restraint guide, using straps and chains.
- Ensure accurate and complete scanning for freight in received, loaded, staged, and unloaded functions.
- Prepare outgoing freight, ensuring goods are secured and packed correctly for dispatch.
- Guarantee freight is loaded in time to meet scheduled vehicle departure times.
Requirements
- Current Forklift Licence (LF)
- Experience with general ugly/oversize freight and restraining loads
- Ability to take direction from management and supervisors
- Preferred scanning experience
- Customer service and communication skills
- Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, and values
