Marine Engineer Role

Cruise operators seek skilled professionals to oversee the mechanical operations of their vessels. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of marine engines and systems.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting daily engine checks on assigned vessels.
  • Collaborating with vessel masters to ensure safe operations in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Diagnosing system problems as they occur.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance requirements and actions.
  • Coordinating preventative maintenance programmes.
Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive knowledge of marine engines and systems, including installations.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing safety measures.
  • Exceptional communication skills to meet guest expectations.
  • Strong time management, organisational skills, and effective written/verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and intermediate computer literacy.

The successful candidate will also hold relevant certifications, such as AMSA accredited or certificate of recognition of Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 NC (MED1).
