At Sunwater, we are seeking a highly skilled Water Planning Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Water Resources team, you will play a vital role in the development of projects and initiatives that achieve Water Act compliance and Water Plan objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparing submissions to State and Federal Regulators on new and amended water related regulatory instruments, including Water Plans, which impact Sunwater's business.
- Responding to Customer and Irrigation Advisory Committee queries regarding the Queensland water regulatory framework, including water sharing rules.
- Developing options and initiatives that help achieve Water Plan objectives and promote water resource security and drought resilience.
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, and/or law (or equivalent) from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Experience working in natural resource management or for a water utility business.
- Policy expertise, including developing and applying water policies, procedures, and plans to water supply schemes in response to legislative requirements and water industry drivers.
- Problem-solving skills, including analyzing problems and proposing solutions for implementation by Sunwater.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing and presenting quality reports and findings to senior leadership.
- Base salary starting from $107,744.
- 12.75% superannuation.
- Access to banked time and TOIL.
- 17.5% leave loading.
