About Cyber Threat and Vulnerability Analyst

Cyber Threat and Vulnerability Analyst is a key role within the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, responsible for managing the department's cybersecurity roadmap in conjunction with strategy and architecture teams.

Job Description

The successful candidate will use their technical expertise to assess and mitigate cyber threats and vulnerabilities across the organisation's IT environments. They will provide expert analysis and advice on information security threats and vulnerabilities, determining current maturity levels and compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

The role requires strong risk management and information security skills, as well as experience in consuming and utilising cyber threat intelligence. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in ICT security and modern cloud native environments, with an Information Security Certification or qualification being highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform IT security risk-based technical assessments and manage monitoring, investigation, containment, eradication, recovery, documentation and reporting on information assets.
  • Conduct regular security investigations, risk and vulnerability assessments and develop reports on findings to provide strategic and tactical advice.
  • Develop, review and implement vulnerability management policies, standards and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant data protection and privacy laws.
  • Consult and communicate with users, system stakeholders, vendors and ICT professionals to raise awareness of information security and cyber security vulnerabilities.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in ICT security and modern cloud native environments.
  • Information Security Certification or qualification (e.g. CISSP).
  • Strong risk management and information security skills.
  • Experience in consuming and utilising cyber threat intelligence.
Salary and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of $43,370 - $53,000 per annum, plus excellent benefits including a generous superannuation package and access to ongoing professional development opportunities.
