Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD candidate to join our Energy Futures team at Monash University. This is an unprecedented opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications in clean energy and sustainability.

About the Role

This PhD project will focus on examining how everyday life benefits of employing AI in energy systems might best be understood and achieved, in ways that are inclusive for diverse Australians in the present and in possible futures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct ethnographic research using innovative methods to investigate the experiences of everyday people with AI-supported energy systems.
  • Analyze data to identify patterns and trends in the adoption and use of AI in energy systems.
  • Develop and apply theoretical frameworks to understand the social, cultural, and economic implications of AI in energy systems.
About the Team

You will be part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary research team working on projects related to energy futures, artificial intelligence, and engaged energy research and scholarship. Our team has a strong commitment to excellence, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

What We Offer
  • A Research Living Allowance of $42,483 AUD per annum, indexed annually.
  • A training allowance of $5,000 pa x 3 years.
  • A travel allowance of $5,000.
  • A thesis allowance of $840.
  • A cost of living payment of $5,000.
