Lifestyle & Community Coordinator Job Opportunity

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lifestyle and Community Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in delivering Person-First Leisure and Lifestyle Programs in our homes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of these programs, ensuring they meet the needs and preferences of our residents.

You will manage a team of Wellbeing Carers who provide emotional and physical rehabilitation through person-first recreational activities that promote holistic wellbeing. Your responsibilities will include providing quality care to residents, supporting them to maintain their skill levels, independence, and mobility, and providing respite support to their family and carers.

Additionally, you will be required to perform the role of Wellbeing Carers alongside the Wellbeing Carers within the care home. This will involve working collaboratively with other team members to plan and organise recreational activity programs, taking into account individual resident's needs, values, spiritual, and cultural preferences.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all Wellbeing Carers with excellent team leadership
  • Provide residents with quality care and actively supporting them to maintain their skill levels, independence, and mobility
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to effective plan and organise all recreational activity programs
  • Ensure individual resident's needs, values, spiritual, and cultural preferences are taken into account when providing recreational care
  • Complete documented assessments which determine and clearly state capabilities, needs, and problems
  • Comply with infection control and work health and safety standards

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Cert IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (desirable) or degree-level qualifications
  • Previous experience gained in a similar role
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (essential)
  • Previous experience in caring for the elderly within an aged or community care setting
  • Highly developed organisation and time management skills
  • The ability to solve problems independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards, and Outcomes
