We are on the cusp of a revolutionary change in the material movement and storage industry. Our solution combines robotics and distributed software to address the $1 trillion market. We focus on the supply chain industry, which is facing significant challenges due to e-commerce growth, rising costs, and disruptions.

Our software team seeks an experienced staff backend engineer to develop and scale the core services that power our system. In this role, you will collaborate with software and firmware engineers to create critical command and control functionality. The team emphasizes functional, reliable, and performant software development.

You will contribute to the long-term success of our software stack by leading the development of key path planning, storage planning, and system optimization functionality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor the development of software that powers our system
  • Develop automated tests to ensure high-quality software releases and accurate functionality
  • Work closely with the firmware team to ensure seamless service integration
  • Deliver high-quality code in various hardware and cloud environments
  • Design, implement, test, and document software
Requirements
  • Strong experience with common backend languages, with recent Python expertise
  • Preferred: Experience with path planning using algorithms
  • Experience with strategies for optimizing inventory placement for storage
  • Experience developing highly available, high reliability systems
  • Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and HIL testing
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Sense of ownership and a collaborative approach to developing software within a team
  • Iterative approach to software development
