Whitehaven Coal is seeking a seasoned leader to play a vital role in leading our Tarrawonga Mine Operations. We are looking for a results-driven professional with outstanding communication skills who is ready to take on the challenges and rewards of this dynamic position.
The successful candidate will be offered a 7/7 roster and paid camp accommodation during their allocated roster period.
Key Responsibilities- Drive Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement initiatives to enhance mining and plant efficiency, ensuring optimal production and quality outcomes.
- Oversee Production Targets: Monitor and manage production targets, coal quality, and assist in production planning to meet business objectives.
- Perform Statutory Inspections: Conduct regular inspections for open-cut operations to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Supervise and Guide Mining Crews: Lead and mentor mining crews, delivering pre-shift briefings and managing shift plans to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Foster a Positive Culture: Play a key role in promoting a positive and collaborative organisational culture that aligns with our company values.
- Relevant Qualifications: Possess a solid understanding of mining legislation, safety, and environmental systems, along with expertise in open-cut mining techniques.
- Experience and Skills: Proven experience as a supervisor and multi-skilled operator in the mining industry, with strong dedication to safety and alignment with our company values.
