Job Title: Support Worker

This is a casual support worker position that will work in the catering and laundry department of our residential aged care home. The role is responsible for supporting the chef/manager and peers in delivering a high-quality catering service, as well as assisting with laundry services to maintain a safe and clean living environment for residents.

Catering Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the catering service meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Complete food safety record forms as per legislation.
  • Maintain Food Safety Program adherence at all times.
  • Follow uniform and protective clothing guidelines.
  • Implement cross-contamination prevention strategies.
  • Prepare daily meals for residents with special dietary needs.
Laundry Responsibilities:
  • Maintain environmental service standards and resident living areas cleanliness.
  • Sort, wash, dry, and distribute clothing and linen according to laundry instructions.
  • Ensure adequate clean linen, towels, and laundry skip bags are available.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Basic Food Safety Practices Certificate (Health Care Competencies).
  • Experience in similar roles in residential care, healthcare, or hospitality sectors.
  • Knowledge and experience in safe food handling.
  • Ability to join a team committed to caring for others in a mission-based organisation.
  • Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control.
