The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to initiate their horticulture career through our traineeship program.

This full-time role provides paid, on-the-job training and experience, as well as formal study, towards a nationally recognized Certificate III in Horticulture.

You will have the opportunity to work outdoors, maintaining local aged care community green spaces and assisting with building and grounds maintenance.

  • Maintain local aged care community green spaces
  • Assist in building and grounds maintenance
  • Mulch, prune, and water plants
  • Pest and weed control
  • Minor landscaping works
  • Lay and install irrigation pipes and watering systems
  • Use of garden tools and machinery
Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Manage and prioritise time when working under pressure
  • Work effectively in a team and independently
  • Have good communication skills
  • Display initiative and a can-do attitude
Role Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold a provisional or full driver's licence and own vehicle
  • Be physically fit and healthy due to undertaking manual labour work
  • Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment, including a drug and alcohol test
  • Have previous experience in gardening, horticulture, or similar (advantageous)
