Rural Generalists are essential to regional communities, fostering lasting relationships with patients and healthcare professionals alike.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with Rural Generalists, Specialist Consultants, General Practitioners, and Allied Health Professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment.
  • Participate in a 24/7 roster, including Code Blue emergency calls, requiring adaptability and quick thinking.
  • Contribute to the training and development of junior doctors, medical students, and other health professionals, promoting knowledge sharing and expertise growth.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to maintain best-practice care standards for patients, driving continuous improvement and excellence.
Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Be a Fellow of ACRRM or RACGP, or meet eligibility criteria for specialist registration with AHPRA, demonstrating expertise and commitment.
  • Possess experience in managing adult and paediatric emergencies and inpatient services, showcasing clinical proficiency.
  • Exhibit ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and open communication.
