Field Geoscientist

Job Description:

We are seeking a Field Geoscientist to deliver high-quality geoscience data acquisition and storage across operations and tenements.

  • Ensure safety, health, and environment through adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Conduct inspections focusing on exploration operations and contractors.
  • Promote a strong SHE culture within Exploration.
  • Identify and rectify hazards reported in the field.
  • Participate in incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed.

The successful candidate will undertake safe and efficient delivery of geoscience field activities following existing standards and procedures for data acquisition.

Foster relationships with key stakeholders and provide input into the development of program schedules.

Outline hole design to drilling contractors and monitor compliance to design.

  • Undertake geological data acquisition following Geoscience Guidelines and field instructions.
  • Collect, store, and prepare sample instructions for dispatch.
  • Contribute to the development of close out reports.
  • Reconcile borehole execution to hole design and predicted variables.

Action feedback received on performance to improve quality of data acquisition.

Maintain relationships with Contractors & Service Provider management, supervision, and workforce.

Maintain relationships within the Geoscience Department and mine site operation teams.

Requirements:

Experience in at least one relational database software package (preferably acQuire).

  • Critical assessment of geoscience data for accuracy and consistency.
  • Coordination of field work in accordance with schedule.
  • Management of multiple scopes of work and contractors.
  • Social process skills to ensure effective interactions and build relationships.

This role requires strategic planning, problem-solving, and collaboration to achieve objectives. Our ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and possesses excellent communication skills.
