Marine Life Protector: Italy Sailing Expedition

We invite you to participate in a unique opportunity to contribute to marine conservation efforts in Italy. As part of our team, you will embark on a 6-day sailing adventure along the breathtaking Italian coastline, collaborating with experts to protect majestic whales and dolphins in their natural habitat.
This hands-on experience offers a chance to develop valuable skills, from teamwork and communication to problem-solving and adaptability, while fostering meaningful connections with fellow participants. The tranquil beauty of the Mediterranean Sea provides the ideal backdrop for self-reflection and rejuvenation, allowing you to reignite your passion for adventure and rekindle your appreciation for the natural world.
Responsibilities:- Monitor and protect dolphins in their natural habitat, recording geographic position, group size, composition, and surface activity patterns; collect acoustic recordings of vocalizations to support conservation.
- Record the presence of other marine species (sea turtles, tuna, swordfish, fish schools, mantas, moonfish, and marine birds) to gain broader insights into the Mediterranean ecosystem and contribute to protection efforts.
Upon arrival at Naples Capodichino International Airport, you will be guided to the island where the boat awaits. You will be welcomed by project staff who will accompany you on this journey.
Your home during the expedition is a shared cabin aboard the cutter ship, with basic bathroom and kitchen facilities. The crew will teach you main rigging techniques, such as steering, hoisting, and sailing, fostering a deeper connection to the sea and your newfound sailing skills.
Life aboard offers a simple, communal, and eco-conscious lifestyle, providing opportunities to enjoy sailing and personal growth. Each watch shift offers a chance to explore the vast sea and its horizons.
